Academic Catalogs

I. Academic Degree Programs

18 degree programs offered from bachelor, master, and PhD level.

II. Major, Concentration, and Minor Fields

A Major (Vietnamese: Ngành chính) represents a degree-seeking student’s primary field of study (academic discipline). A major is a structured plan of study requiring a minimum of 30 credits.  The major appears on the official transcript.

A Concentration (Vietnamese: Chuyên ngành) is a structured plan of study within a major. The number of credits for a concentration varies (typically from 12-15 credits) but is included within the total credits for the major.  Concentrations allow students to develop an individualized degree program that transcends the scope of a single academic discipline or major program. For students who complete all requirements, the concentration will be acknowledged on the official transcript.

A Minor (Vietnamese: Ngành phụ) represents an optional, secondary field of study for a degree-seeking student; no student may declare a major and a minor in the same discipline.  A minor is a structured plan of study requiring a minimum of 15 credits. A minor is a good way to complement your major, have your interests in another subject area recognized on your official transcript, and expand your employment opportunities.
